Union With Christ: Purpose and Glory

What does it truly mean to be saved? Most of us have thought of salvation as little more than a rescue from judgment, a divine eraser wiping away our sins. But Romans 8:29-30 pulls back the curtain on something far grander. Our salvation is not simply a transaction that cleared our debt. It is a complete transformation of identity rooted in an unbreakable union with Jesus Christ. From before the foundation of the world, God set His covenantal love upon us, predetermined our destination, called us to life by His Spirit, declared us righteous, and has already spoken our glorification into existence as a completed fact. That last point is breathtaking. We are not yet glorified, and yet Paul writes of it in the past tense. Why? Because what God decrees in eternity is so certain that time itself cannot threaten it. This message invites us to see our faith not as a fragile hope but as an anchor forged in eternity, held secure by the full weight of the Trinity.
